I got my truck back from the dealer. Initially we suspected cam phaser round two. Ford Engineering got involved and the “deceleration rattle” was actually caused by defective phaser solenoids on both exhausts shafts. Ford replaced all four to an updated part. Truck idles and runs like a...
There are a lot of Honda and Toyota V6s running around in cars, trucks and outboard engines with variable valve timing and ridiculously long service lives.
Ford went with a hollow cam shafts and smaller phasers to save on rotating mass. That lighter assembly will have more harmonics and if...
He’s having issue going up a grade with a load. In that scenario there will be considerable heat coming off the intercooler. It would be like driving your truck up a grade when it’s 150-140° outside.

Agree. I think it’s long sits where the oil drains back and the phasers start spinning without any hydraulic lockup. Maybe we need an aftermarket remote mount that allows for the filter to sit upright?

Had to drop some stuff off at the junk yard, prob 200# piece furniture, no more than. With myself, one 120# pax and a 90# dog the SCREW Raptor with KM3 37s weighed 7000 pounds before I unloaded the furniture. 0-60 sub-5 is incredible.

That engine is configured with a dry sump and considerably higher volume supply and scavenging pumps.
I still feel it’s an oiling issue. The system and component volume is large and the stock pump cannot deliver enough volume to the various loads which leads to oil starvation to the...
MPT can get your Whipple tune out for the cost of their nGauge and custom tune. Whoever Whipple uses to write their code has an agreement with Ford to not let you or the dealer drop a stock tune back into the truck. The part number your Whipple tune installs flags the vehicle and prevents...
ECU has to be flashed to your VIN and you will also have security issues with the FOB keys. The truck will need to be hooked up to OASIS and setup correctly with the new or used ECU.

My dealer has been doing 2018 F150 phasers as well. The issue is specific to the Gen 2 engine. Engines that tend to sit more than a few days per week vs driven daily are the common offender. My dealer has worked plenty of 2018s as well.
