GEN 2 Whipple Performance Upgrade Kit and Tune

When I had a custom LS7 tuned for track work the tuner asked me whether I wanted the engine to last 12 hours or several seasons. One of the other questions he asked me about was catalytic converter overheat protection. Apparently some engines calculate a point in time when the cat is at risk...

    Who's been waiting the longest?

Drove up the main drag in June, found a blue one fully loaded, thought about it for a few days, came back and bought it. Had to pay $5k over but they also jacked up my trade in $5k so as to not upset the other dealers I cannot imagine waiting half a year :( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    More power tuning

Especially now days. We aren't talking ignition and fuel maps anymore. It's cam phasing (which changes dynamic compression), wide band O2 sensors, fuel systems that run in closed loop WOT, catalytic overheat protection algorithms, boost, shift speed/timing, trannies that make even a Porsche...

    Deavers for the new Raptor

Thanks! This is exactly what I have been looking for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Deavers for the new Raptor

Does +3 mean that once installed the rear will be 3" taller? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    More power tuning

I called and asked this. You CAN get just an ECU tune and just the power and torque is updated. Transmission and mode selection is unaffected. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    More power tuning

I agree with this statement. Had anyone popped a motor or tore up a driveline with one of these tunes? Learned my lesson with a Chevy LS7, glad I had left it stock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Installed CJ Pony Level Kit

The truck came out awesome, within 1/4" of being level, rear being higher. Ride is ever so slightly stiffer over harder obstacles, otherwise welcome. Now towing in the other hand, LOTS of sag. Still tows 9,500#s like a champ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    3.5 Ecoboost Internals

Just cruising through this section and stumbled across the one about Switzer Performance, just WOW. When I read about the availability of GT turbos that bolt into the Raptor and take a hard look at the size of the exhaust system it all became VERY clear to me. What I am curious about...

    Intercooler condensation

To weep or not... WEEP HOL is available as a custom plate I am sold. Where do I drill this thing? And at cruise / vacuum won't dirt get sucked in through that hole?

    2017 Raptor Alignment

Two fairly aggressive off-road session with the Beast. The third and latest involved snatching a lifted C-1500 with the left side sunk to the rocker panels. 50-60 hard yanks with the snatch strap and I know on the way out my left rear tire contacted the wheel well. Still tracks perfectly...

GEN 2 Air bags for towing??

Correct. WDH are very uncommon on boats for a multitude of reasons: long tongue, corrosion and siege brakes to name a few.

GEN 2 Air bags for towing??

And waste time putting leather seats vs race seats. Idiots up there in Dearborn. Brah, do you even jump? ;) UPDATE: Looked up my records on the boat, 9,700 pounds full fuel, 900 on the tongue. Hitched her up again and did some towing, works like a champ. Sure it sags but it still...

Way to handle intercooler condensate buildup problems in 3.5 ecoboost

Sasq, I am new to turbo charging, not necessarily engines. At low power settings would the induction system and hence the intercooler work at a vacuum like an NA engine? If so could this weep hole be a source for sand, debris, etc?

    VelociRaptor 600

He'd solidly be a Porsche guy.

    VelociRaptor 600

128 HP/L on stock hypereutextic pistons and he pushes it to 171 HP/L without any internal mods? All below 6,000 revs. Even a stock 911 Turbo is only 142 HP/L... and that engine alone costs 2/3 as much as an entire Raptor. I would not do this.

GEN 2 Air bags for towing??

You don't think 1,000 pounds back there vs the rated 600 would deform the springs do you?

GEN 2 Air bags for towing??

Just FYI, most salt water trailers use surge brakes and those are marginally compatible with one brand of load distribution designed for that application. That being said, they are made of steel, non-galvanized. It's why you never see load distribution hitches at salt water launch ramps. If...

GEN 2 Air bags for towing??

Long story! I used to ask myself why people buy Z06s and Porches and never take them to a closed course event even once. Short of it is I am consolidating in life and the Raptor replaced a ten year old Lariat and a Z06, sticking with Miatas on the track going forward. The dealer and I...

GEN 2 Air bags for towing??

Traded in my 2008 5.4 Lariat for this beast and LOVE the Ecoboost, loads more towing torque below 3,000. The old truck had Firestone airbags and towed fantastic with the boat and probably 500 pounds of dive gear on our last vacation. The Raptor needs the same. Anyone know when Firestone plans...

    External Winch Options

Just bought a Gen 2 and with a background in towing/hauling and track days I can't get comfortable relocating a turbo intercooler to an area in front of the radiator, AC condenser and what looks like the transmission cooler. I know, people have done it but I am strictly interested in an...
