Near enough for remote start, yes. One is on the other side of the mud room door (maybe 15ft away) and the other is in my office (20ft away). Both are separated from the truck by walls.
Yeah, I'm not trying to infer it's "bad"... I'd just like to know what is is (and possibly turn it off). In fact, I just noticed that the sound happens when I open the driver door after it's been off for awhile. (Which is why I assumed it was some form of equipment check -- Possibly before...
Hey guys, long time no post.
So I've been experiencing an odd noise on my 2019 Raptor 802a. The truck is parked in my garage, and I can hear it periodically make what I can best describe as an "equipment adjustment" noise. It almost sounds like it's checking the shocks or brakes or something...
Hey guys - So I've got a weird issue going on with my 2019 802a. After I stop the engine, the truck will whistle. This will continue for two to three hours after the truck is driven. It's not constant -- it will whistle for one to five seconds stop for ~30 seconds, then whistle again. The...
I was taking my kid to get ice cream after a little league game a few months back, and apparently the local Dairy Queen is a meetup spot for guys who want to show off their (heavily modded) trucks.
I get approached by a couple guys who chat me up a bit about my Rap. "Are those beadlocks?"...
What you're describing is an aftermarket solution though. I'm pretty sure what OP was asking is if his existing Raptor fob could be added to his wife's Explorer, which I'm pretty sure the OEM fobs cannot support.
Though I will admit this knowledge is based on older fobs, and perhaps that's...
The fobs are paired with a single vehicle. While it may be technically possible to pair your Raptor keyfob with your wife's Explorer, it would unpair it with your Raptor.
Also, I doubt you'd want this in application. Example: Go to remote start your Raptor, starts your wife's Explorer too...
Safelite said they couldn't fix the chip, or couldn't replace the windshield? I'm not really looking to have the chip "fixed", since all that really involves is filling the chip with resin so that it won't crack further. But the chip would still be just as visible as before, which is right in...
Bumping an old thread...
Got cut off on my way into work this morning, and of course the a-hole's shitty camry threw a rock. It's just a chip now, but right in my line of sight and pretty annoying... And large enough that it will eventually crack.
Seems the overwhelming opinion is Safelite...
As a person who has grown up in northern states, the only reason I've ever found to put weight in the bed of your truck during winter is if the truck isn't 4x4 capable. If you can put it in four wheel drive, there's very little need for the extra traction in the rear.
Last winter, my...
Would I use ratchet straps over bungee cords? Absolutely, without equivocation. Though when I cover cargo with a tarp, I prefer zip ties through the anchors. Point being, bungee cords have way too much give for the kinds of force a bed is going to be subjected to from wind resistance at...
^^ 100% this
OP, it really sucks your truck was damaged, and hopefully it's fixed quickly and without excessive expense.
But honestly, that's exactly what I would expect to happen in that scenario. 300-400 miles; So that's probably five hours @ 70mph (assuming 350 miles). Let's also assume...
Could just be your heightened sense of awareness now. I'd be surprised if the transmission was damaged.
But getting a professional opinion when you take the truck in is your best bet. Good luck, and keep us updated.
Forscan will take care of the engine noise augmentation. Plenty of threads that outline it if you search around. I kinda like it though; Covers up some of the road noise that's otherwise more noticeable.
But hang on now.... You want a QUIETER Raptor? Man, there are some v8 fanboys/trolls...
That's a bummer, man.... Especially on an almost brand new truck. Though I'm glad it sounds like the (bumper) damage was minimal. Hopefully you can get it fixed without having to go through insurance.
I'm no transmission expert, but I doubt that would cause any damage. Whenever I park the...
Very solid points. Thank you for going into a little more detail. The only item you noted that I'm a little skeptical on is the hybrid Raptor. I think that's a possibility at some point in the future, though I would be surprised if one landed in the first MY (of the Raptor).
I think you're...
Can you elaborate on where this speculation is coming from, or cite your sources? No offense, but these sorts of opinions are commonplace here, so getting some insight into your stance on this would help qualify your statements.
Ok, so I would advise on taking what you read on these forums with a grain of salt. I'm not saying the Raptor doesn't have problems or those who post about them are disingenuous, but the volume is most certainly magnified.
Meaning, there are those who come on here to try to troubleshoot an...
Alright, I'll bite. This was from last Thursday; Picked up the Chemical Guys torq foam cannon as a prime day deal (amazed they had something I wanted to buy). The soap was a little thinner than I was hoping, but still way better than what I was using before. I'll have to play around with the...
Oh, I'm very aware. I ordered my '19 when the banks opened last year, but the build was delayed to the point where the mid-year price increase affected it. Was an uncomfortable conversation with my dealer. For them, anyway.
