Thanks. I don't think they are leaking but I'd be surprised if they weren't low on nitrogen. Not sure I want the dealer techs working on my truck, even if it was just to refill nitrogen.
I've seen a few people say they got their Gen 2 shocks replaced under warranty, which would be kinda cool to...
My 2017's shocks aren't performing nearly as well as they used to. I've got 42k miles on the clock, anywhere from 3-5k offroad miles at this point. Per Fox, I'm way overdue on maintenance; per everyone else, it seems I might be middle of life. From what I've read, the predominant opinion on this...
I've driven for four years now and only been stopped once for not having my front plate on. Got stopped another time because my sticker was apparently out and he didn't notice my front plate.
You know Ford got lazy on the engineering when the manual flat out tells you to take off the plate in...
He was stopped at a bar ditch, wheels turned. He accidentally tapped the accelerator, truck spun 90 degrees, back tires hit bar ditch, causing rollover.
You already made my point for me, so I don't know why I'm rehasing it...but here we go:
This is straight from Pedal Commander. All it does...
*facepalm*
"Incorrect, period"
So explain to me how else it was done? He was stopped - at a standstill. I can't do this in my stock truck without standing on both pedals hard for a few seconds. But if I put a Pedal Commander on I can certainly spin it with minimal throttle.
If he was truly an...
He was stopped at a bar ditch - there are two witnesses. You'd have to stomp - and hold - on the pedal in a stock truck to spin it all around to flip it like he did. Having been given a free iDrive for testing, I can attest the device goes way overboard in the throttle adjustment, and a quick...
Wrong. Part of the default programming is to exclude accidental quick hits from doing that. Ever stomped on the gas and had to wait for a bit for things to register? That's a safety feature to prevent exactly this from happening.
I used to use a phone app called Harry's LapTimer. Powerful little app, but buggy as all get out and Harold could rarely be convinced it was due to his programming faults. It has a really nice overlay but I got sick and tired of trying to make it work. Sometimes everything would pair without an...
Haha! We did have the "Baja Taxi" truck blare his sirens at us to pass. You were supposed to go <25mph on the ranch roads, and he rode our tail on a single lane part of it for a few minutes smh
Took my son out to TRR this year; it was his first time offroading in my truck. For our first lap, I had one gopro watching the track and one watching his reactions. I stitched them together and am pretty pleased with the result, and thought I'd share. Note I was going somewhat slow as (for...
Yeah, my wife doesn't ride shotgun off road any more - to be fair, it isn't particularly fun for anyone. Driving tho....if she had the opportunity, I'd bet she'd put nearly as many offroad miles on my truck as I do.
He sneezed, slipped off the brake and 'brushed' the throttle, as it was told to me. Not sure how you can assert he was 'misusing' the pedal commander's settings - he just had it set to his preferred settings. Yeah, obviously it was unsafe - a good argument against the PC. Yes, part of it was...
Got a friend who totaled his first Raptor because of the Pedal Commander (he's the guy you hear about at Raptor Assault).
He was stopped a bar ditch on the Raptor Assault trails, talking, when he sneezed and tapped the pedal. Normally, wouldn't have been a big deal, but the PC was maxed out and...
The Gen 2 applique tailgate is - IMO - the best looking tailgate ever. The new one is not good. It is off balance, in both size and position. I really hope they change it before launch, it looks worse than most other tailgates you see on the road today, which is a shame.
Numbers speak, sadly. Like I said, I'm not surprised - disappointed, sure.
FORD said they were better. (Hardly seems like a decade ago!). Additionally, both Raptor Rs (the ones they sent through Baja 1000) were supercabs. Those of us who've driven both have experienced that they are better...
I just want to remind everyone that Ford CHOSE not to make a Supercrew Raptor in 2010 because they - per their own press release - did not want to compromise on offroad capability.
Having driven both configurations on the Gen 2, the SCAB is significantly sportier on and offroad. That said...
The spring holders work pretty well in my experience! I don't think I've really had a cup come loose, now that I think about it. I have left it open a few times, which made for an irritating and unpleasant surprise upon landing.....
Another pet peeve of mine. Same people. Literally SVT merged with Ford Racing to make Ford Performance. I didn't like the name change at first but in retrospect it makes sense. So yeah, same people made all 3 Gens.
Thanks for the feedback!
I think every GoPro 7 up comes with the hardware required to capture this data. For sure the black versions - and my 7 Silver has the capability as well (while we are at it, never buy anything less than a Black version). One of the reasons I originally bought my 7...
Finally going to get to go back to TRR this year, and since I've several new GoPros I'm thinking about various camera angles. To that end, I have been reviewing old footage.
This is a warm up lap from Texplex last year that - due to exposure problems - I never posted. However, I went back and...
