I know Ford usually does fit and measure session pre-launch with major aftermarket suppliers. Not sure if this happened with Raptor this go around.
The question is as above. Assuming many of these trucks will go out as 35 spec. How will the aftermarket make them compatible with 37s?
Make no...
Raptor was my first 1/2 ton truck as well.
Before my common rides were either my Ram 2500 or the big, bad 3/4T Suburban.
The ride. The ride. The ride. The ride of the Raptor is amazing. We're getting ready to take a several thousand mile road trip, and it's not even a question of what to...
I bought the Gates premium belts, tensioner and pulleys.
Standard Auto makes a plug wire set that comes with: wires, boots, and resistors. I'll go get a little tube of dielectric grease.
The coils were Densos. Which were half as much as OEM, but are premium, and (I believe) are the OEM...
the size.
I'd love to have Raptor in a 7/8 sized package. And I an see many off-road scenarios where the ZR2s size and weight would be a huge advantage over Raptor.
The ZR2 solely by virtue of it's significantly less travel isn't even in the same league.
Then there's tires. Apparently the...
Dropped some cash with our friends at RockAuto.
Previous owner had changed plugs and all fluids at 100k a few years ago. Which was good. But that was it.
I ordered:
- new coil packs
- plug wires and boots
- serpentine belt, tensioner and pulleys.
Under 7 hundo to my door.
Deciding if I'm...
600 pounds. That‘s the approximate weight difference. 10%.
I haven’t driven these things back to back, but that should be a huge difference off-road.
Not sure about you dudes, but to me, the Raptor feels big and heavy enough off road where serious caution is to be exercised.
Around here, we...
bumper arrived and installed.
most serious respect to SVC for a quality product.
serious body cutting coming up this weekend. dovetail here we go.... stay tuned.
well UPS seems to have found my bumper. it’s apparently in portland now. which means it drove right past the direct route to my place.
supposed to be here tomorrow.
anyone placing bets?
:-)
Depends if this thing is really limited or not. If so, you can look at more of a GT40 model.
If not, get ready to pay.
Let’s be straight. Dealers are wh@res. That’s not good or bad. It just is. Their job is to make their owners the most money, not to make friends with you. Groveling at a...
What did I do today?
I sat around waiting patiently for my SVC rear bumper to arrive. UPS apparently had some sort of tragic delivery accident. Not happy.
Also waiting (less patiently) for my JDM tune to arrive.
I'm sure they will all be more than worth it. Keep you all posted.
i tend to agree. the jeep pictured over there. <<<<< was a base model.
it got wheels, tires, dana 60 axles, lockers, cage and bumpers.
bronco made it a little more difficult in that the wide axles and and lockers seem to only be available on higher end models.
someday a manufacturer will...
pretty truck.
although I am clearlay NOT the target demographic for that graphics package.
i would have like to be in that product planning meeting though to hear how they describe “that guy”.
So my new / old truck just clicked over 130k miles. Bone stock. Just chucked the previous owners CAI for a factory airbus. My new stereo unit interfaces with the OBD port, and has some cool performance functions.
Sol I found a pretty straight, pretty level piece of ground and floored it from a...
rear back up camera works.
you don’t use your factory mic for the phone. i hid the aftermarket mic to the lower left of the wheel behind that vented section. seems to work ok.
on my 2011 there is some minor dash trimming required.
i started the install. realized the cutting was NOT for the...
i used the FOR-1 adapter kit.
steering wheel works. i had spare plug also. i’m not sure on sub. i haven’t checked yet. will advise.
i’m am going to rip the door speakers out and replace them with something good.

i’ll grab a pic installed later. but it’s sweet.
as an aside, there is a huge car stereo shortage right now. seems everything is sold out.
