Is warn worth the money? That depends on what you are buying the winch for. Warn makes excellent products. They also have an extensive advertising campaign. How do you think they pay for that? I just don't think they are worth double the cost of the next guy.

You saw my build thread already. You can make the mount as tall as you need to clear the cover. Mine is about 3" tall. After 6 months, 2 of which have been heavy weather (snow and rain) the mount still looks like it did on install day.

I don't have experience with any lip mounts though
If you used my freq file the option is not set, so it should follow the radio default. See if this helps you. If I need to update the freq file let me know.
