The Smittybilt X2O 10 Comp Series Winch is a great option. Being waterproof and having a synthetic rope are options that most of my customers like. I have sold several of them and have received no complaints. I do not have them loaded to my website so I have provided a link below for your convenience to check them out.

A few of us on here have the Recon 10,500 lb winch with synthetic rope. Check out the video lug posted after snoball.
The winch is very affordable and has been on the front of my truck for over a year. It's had moderate to high usage.

I like the remote, and it has a wired control too.
Check my winch maintenance thread for some upgrades I had to perform.

RSiWorks also sells winches here. If you've got the budget go for the Warn power plant. On board air and winch. Can't beat that.

Another cost factor to consider odd the winch mount. You're looking at another ~$300 for a hidden winch mount behind the bumper. Check out WSI, RPG, SDHQ, Outlaw, to name a few.

Thanks Joe. This user input and how you run it is exactly what I'm looking for.

As for the air Chris hooked me up with that and train horns a few months ago.

This is gonna mount in a steel bumper I'm having a local shop build. I'd rather have more protection up front especially with summer coming up and the deer starting to move.

I did the X2O Comp Series, 10,000lb amphibious winch and love it. Going on 2 years with no problems.
100% water proof but the only thing it doesn't have is a wireless remote. It has a plug in remote but winch works awesome.

I run the Recon 10,500lb winch like Yukon. Wireless remote is very handy. It has done all I have asked it to do. If it ever gets changed I would make sure to have a wireless remote again.

I have a Rough Country 12,000 lb for almost a year now. No issues with it and it is about half the cost of a Warn.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. You all are making this way easier than I thought. So what I'm seeing form all of you is that(please correct me if I'm wrong, its usual)
1. Whatever winch go with a factor on the end
2. Try and get a wireless remote 3. Synthetic is the way to go
4. There are so many choices that are half the cost of a warn

So I pose 3 more questions:
1. Is a warn really worth the money compared to the others out there?
2. Is there a need for a 12k winch or will that just be wasting my money?
3. Is getting one with longer cable/syn for more money worth it?

This forum really is great. Thank you for the help. All of you chime in to help others out. Defiently the best forum I've seen.
