Re: moonroof maintenance
The Krytox grease is just for the brackets. Weatherstrip lube (also a cheap purchase on Amazon) is recommended to lube the seal all the way around, after cleaning with isopropyl alcohol. Here is the most recent TSB that gives all the part numbers of products you will...
Gotcha. I should have seen that in the link. But I just grabbed the link for everyone else's benefit after the call. On the phone this is what was said verbatim:
Me: "So whatcha asking for it?"
Salesman: "Eighty two, eight ninety."
Me: "You're selling it at MSRP?"
Salesman: "That's right."...
If it really was $100k, that is disappointing. The salesman who called my phone told me they were only asking sticker price. I asked him the price, and he told me $82,890 (or whatever the exact amount was). So he was either blatantly incorrect or that changed within 10 minutes of him calling me.
Got a call from Hubler Ford in Indiana today. I'm not interested, but seems like 37" trucks at MSRP are kinda rare, so here ya go:

Are you comfortable with someone else removing the entire body from the frame of your truck, because that's what's happening right now when the phasers are replaced.
Checking for correct operation post-repair is part of any repair process. Let them do their work.
I AM NOT ADVOATING SPENDING $3000 ON THIS CHASE RACK
There, now that's out of the way...Purely judging by the fact that they add chase racks to the trucks at Raptor Assault, and purely judging by their use at Raptor Assault, I think this is likely just to provide a mounting point up high for...
I agree, it doesn't *need* a catch can.
If I accept the premise that "the longer hose causes more condensation" then I could accept that more water vapor is condensing to liquid form by virtue of the longer hoses of the catch can. But if that's true, the catch can is just condensing into liquid...
I hear you. I have heard that reasoning before. But here's the thing. I am not a genius. I do not know everything about these trucks or physics or anything like that. I goof things up all the time. But I do have a degree in engineering which required me to take a bunch of classes: two classes in...
It's absolutely not needed. Your engine will function just fine without it. But if you install one and then empty it after 1000 miles and see all the oily residue that would have gone into your intake, then you will never go without one.
I also like running lower tire pressure than most recommend (36/34).
I haven't tried this, but you might experiment with some strategic weight in the bed. Not anything crazy, but 100 lbs over the axle might keep the rear end planted better. I'm also speculating. I carry about 150 lbs in my bed...
Amazon can have it at your house this weekend. Just use the right stuff and you don't have to wonder.

WD-40 is a much better solvent than lubricant, so I would be suspect of its ability to lube the particular type of rubber on weatherstripping. However, I also suspect it cleaned all the dirt from the interface very well, and that is generally the source of the rattle if I understand it...
Here's the TSB from Ford that includes part numbers with procedure and photos. I do this procedure with these parts about every 4 months. So far, no rattles. Note that the weatherstrip lube it specifies is expensive, but it appears it will last me about 3 years at this rate. The Krytox grease it...
Wouldn't doubt it. When I bought my 2019 I found a dealer in Michigan whose standard practice was to drive every new Raptor as his personal DD for 2500 miles and then sell it as "new"...with 2500 miles. I hard passed.
This is my method as well. I wash with Chemical Guys soap/brush. Then after dry I apply spray on Chemical Guys "Nice n Wet" tire shine. It makes the running board very slightly slippery for a day or so, but it's honestly not bad.
