There was another thread recently where the wrong part# was posted for these. I broke both style u-nuts on my 2017 so I bought a few of each style. Now that I know how not to break them I shouldn't break any on my 2020. https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/what-are-these.77950/#post-1520538
Front plates are required here and it's not worth the hassle to not run one. I live in a town with a population of 3K and the neighboring towns vary from 2K-5K so the police get bored and focus on petty shit.
I think the holes look like shit but to each his own.
I've been playing around with turbocharged vehicles since 1988 and nobody can ever convince me that blocking an intercooler with a license plate is a good idea.
I don't mind the side mount plate the gen 1 Ecoboosts came from the factory like...
When I ordered my 2017 and my 2020 I told the dealer "do not install the front license plate holder." That saved me from having to drill out the rivets.
The u-nut was probably missing from the factory. All of the the factory spray ins I've seen they spay over the bolts so they'd have no reason to remove the bolts. Most Line-X dealers remove the bolts then spray and reinstall the bolts.
