Figured it out in forscan via the ACM module.

This got rid of the low frequency fake engine noise/active noise control I was hearing through my aftermarket sub.
Okay, appreciate the help. If the Forscan fake engine noise disable doesn't work I'll take it back to the installer shop and suggest what you mentioned.
It is odd that if I turn the gain down on the bass control knob, the noise disappears. I wouldn't think the fake engine noise is limited to low frequency.
It sounds like it goes away but it might just be overtaken by the engine and real exhaust sound at higher rpm. Each amp has its own 2 guage line to the battery. The signal goes from the head unit into the vxi amp then out to everywhere else from there
JL VX700/5i (DSP Amp with custom tune) for front components (focal ps165 fxe) and sub (JL cp208 microsub dual 8")
JL JD 2 channel for rear fill (focal performance or access?)
I don't think it's a bad ground since I only hear it through my sub, not any other speakers. When I disconnect the sub, or turn the gain down, the noise goes away. If it were a ground issue wouldn't I still hear it in the other speakers?
Appreciate all the other comments as well!
Ha thanks! If it were constant, I think I'd get used to it, but since I hear it when I'm coming to a stop, then it's gone at stop, then back on at acceleration, it's kind of annoying. I guess I'll spend $60 for the Forscan OBD link and see if disabling gets rid of it. Since this is new to me...
I have a Gen 3, just upgraded my sound system, and now there is what sounds like fake engine/exhaust sound coming through my new sub, but only at very low RPM <1k, and it noticeably disappears when completely stopped/idle. I unplugged my sub and the noise was gone, so I'm guessing it's only a...
