Our wait is almost finally over! Our Raptor will be here on or before 7/9/2012. 15 weeks of wait! Anyway... We have been looking and researching tires and wheels since we ordered it! Thought we pretty much were set on Nitto Mud Grapplers or Mickey Thompson Muds with Moto Metal 0957 Wheels (black). Until yesterday we were told the Mud grapplers do not give much mileage on daily driving. Tires would be 35/12.50/20 wheels 20x9. wheels a -12 off set

Honestly we probably will not do much off roading. We Do want a more aggressive looking tire. Mud Terrain almost a must. The kicker? We would like to change the look of the truck without these "perch" modifications we are reading about. I know we have alot to learn...but we dont even know what front, middle ect perch means! :ROFLJest:

ANY Suggestions...would be so helpful. We would like to just make a decision and get them ordered this week so we can put them on ASAP.

We think we have made a decision on tire. Toyo Open Country Mud. 35/12.50/20. These tires seem like a good fit for how we will be driving the truck. While I know they are not as aggressive as Grapplers ect. but seem to be a good fit for us.

Wheels? what on earth are we needing? We WANT the tire to stick out past the fender of the truck. What do we look for? Is -12 off set the right off set with these tires? We would like to get this look w/o doing these perch modifications and little rubbing. PLEASE HELP LOL

Have a look at super swamper m16's. I had em on my tacoma till my neighbour crushed it. They are 35 x 12.5. They def quieter than mud grapplers. Those are what I had previous ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341169614.920895.jpg

THANKS Greg!!! And with what you suggested...will the tires stick out past the fenders more than the stock? If so which one of offset will push out the fartherest? So I know what to look for.

And here is a completly CRAZY question I know.. but the heck does PERCH mean? What does it mean that you are running at top perch? LOL

What does a modification do? Where would I call to get a price on raising it? If we ever wanted too

"Jaylord" If you only knew how many threads I have read! LOL I never thought it would be this stressful to pick wheels and tires! This has been going on for almost 15 weeks! I told my husband thats it.. I am making a thread and what they tell me we are going with!

Here are mud grapplers on Double standard Methods. 0 offset on a 17" wheel. 35x12.50R17 tire. They stick out a little in the back but not as much in the front due to top perch and that pulls the tires in some so if you stay stock it will stick out like the back or at least a little more than what mine do right now.

I got 30K with thread left and ran them at TRR. I think I can get 40k out of them. I got over 40K on my 4runner that had the 33x11.50R16 and sold it with them on. The trick is to balance every 10K and rotate every 5k. If you don't they won't last. Also, I have no problem on the HWY with them, but they are like an airplane going down the road so if you don't want the noise you want to go with something else. I like it personally. I'm on my second set due to new wheels and wanted to keep my stock wheels with tires on them for either TRR or if i trade it in.

Just FYI i've got almost 80K total and on my 3rd set just starting in. They balance out very well for the kind and size of the tire.

You will love the look of the mid perch adjustment And think it is something you will want to . I just but new wheels and tires on my truck last week and was same way debating on tires and wheels I went with the toyo's and love the way they look and are not much louder than stock ones

One main thing to remember 0mm or negative offset if you plan to jump or offroad hard. You will rub the front fenders on full compression...
