I also wasn't aware that dealerships don't typically stock parts. I was informed that taking it back to get fixed (the second time) will also take a few days because they'll need to order parts as they do not keep items like gaskets in stock. They also seem to go with the slowest shipping option. For a $100k truck, I expected a little better. There isn't really much recourse available with Ford - just a shrug and a "we're sorry."

My recently purchased 24 back in Dec has a dead battery. Went to start it yesterday and it was so dead, it wouldn't unlock the door or flash a light. Called my dealer and they remote tested my battery from the dealer and said the battery was good, I just needed to jump start it and drive it. It's been sitting for a month and I'm sure the cold temp didn't help.

Anyway my dealer stated they had over 250 on the lot with dead batteries. it's costing them several thousand a month, due to some internal drain (computer running when the truck is off) draining it.

Fact is- it's all junk now.

Looking at the junk availalbe to buy new right now, I consider Fords to still barely be OK. Hondas and Toyotas are better, but they don't have any real trucks.

Everything else is a BIG step down from those three quality wise.

Sounds like you do not drive the truck very often. Put a battery tender on it. This one should would with the Raptor's AGM battery.

Toyotas are better than what? a $70k+ land cruiser with a 4 cylinder POS? Tundras with recalled engines? I'll stick with my good ol' Ford.

Honda and Toyota's current junk is better than all the German crap, all the Korean crap, and all of the US crap.

Your anecdote doesnt change that. We had a 2.7L EB engine failure in one of our Fords last year. That's one of their newest and best engines.

You want me to go down Ford's list of recent engine major issues? The 1st gen 2.0L engine were all crap. The 1.3L is crap and nearly all will fail. 5.0Ls have had major issues with blocks. Let's not even talk about the 3.5L EB. Taking off the front cover of a 3.5L EB is a favorite past time of mechanics at this point.

Problem with Honda is they only make small cars and SUVs.

Problem with Toyota is they don't make any real trucks. The Tundra cannot handle a skid steer on a trailer and 1 ton of cargo for example. Not that a Ratpor can, but plenty of Ford trucks can.
