So I have to decide between 2 different setups, please help with your observations!

Vision x extreme 21" in the bumper mount kit , or the Rigid e series 40 inch behind the grill lower mount kit.

Vision x has 36, 5 watt for almost 18,000 lumen or Rigid 80 LEDs ? Watt and don't know the lumen output because they list it differently on their spec sheet.

They are both in the same ballpark for what I can spend on lights, but I don't know what is a brighter setup. How much do you lose behind the grill? Any shadows cast? Maybe more protection from rocks behind the grill, ice formation in winter?

What would you guys go with?

I can't really help you, but you can't go wrong either way. The Vision X's have been pretty darn impressive from what I've been seeing/reading. However, based on what I've read, you lose about 50% output being behind the grille. The others can confirm this that have this style setup.

My vote is the Vision x extreme 21" in the bumper mount kit. You will lose light output if you put behind the grill.

Yup. Lower bumper mounted 21" would be the best bang for your buck. Will easily outperform a 40" behind the grill. Light loss behind the grill is 40-50%.

Let me know if you have any other questions! I can get you a quote as well!

I have the behind grill mount and i love it. For me it puts out great light and i like the fact that it is somewhat protected. I cant speak for the the Vision X but it seems like they make a great product, good luck either way!
