Although it would seem I'm drinking the Ford Kool-Aid lately, I do have one big gripe. These door detents (or stops) were not designed by anyone with a brain. The first detent is completely worthless at about 12"- my kids can't squeeze through that one. The second is at a door crushing 3 feet.

Anything in between and you can't let go without the door swinging out to it's widest opening. Impossible to let go of door when parked next to something to retrieve stuff from my truck.

Stupid ass design, Ford.

And then you end up doing the "I'm going to use my fingers as a bumper so I don't ding the adjacent car because it's a man-law" move.

That's why I park in BFE

Oh, nice, I can't edit the ******* title.:pp:

BWahahahahah!

Yeah, that's one of my complaints as well. And, that if you're parked on an incline from crawling to the top of some bad-ass hill and you want to get out and get a picture -- there is no positive lock for the doors, nor does the e-brake hold the truck in it's place.

Seems the edit tool designer and Ford door designer worked in the same cube!

I hadn't really thought about the source of my frustration with these doors till I read the OP. The other thing I get frustrated with is the front seat belt originating from the back door. I get my daughter all buckled in, in the front seat, and make my next stop, to pick up my son, and he about decapitates her with her seatbelt as he helps himself to opening the rear door. The seatbelts on my F250 originate from the roof, independent of the rear door.
