I felt guilty about not posting any pics. Here is one of the new cable wiring, one showing where I added plastic wire loom where it comes out of the frame, and a final one showing where it goes into the existing grommet that is located just below the fuse panel on the 2014. I ended up using hot glue on the inside of the grommet to make sure it does not pull out.

I have a tool box with power actuators for the locks ( one on each side). If I tie these into the same connection as the tailgate lock do u think it will overload the circuit?

Now that's a good question! Hummmmmm
I wish I had an answer for you.

So far nobody has had an issue with the Screw (4dr.) and the tailgate lock.

Try hooking up one at a time, just to be safe.
It's not like these are high amp devices.

Not familiar with relay wiring. Could you provide a relay spec and wiring example? I appreciate any help you could provide. I'm a very experienced DIYer but want to make sure I get it right the first time.

Somewhere in the thread there is a wiring diagram of the relay you would need.
I'm on my phone now if you can't find I'll put something up tonight.

here, on frf
if these are a two wire actuator, you will need 2 relays. one for unlock and one for lock.

relay 1

85 -constant pwer
86 - unlock from factory wiring (- trigger)
87 - constant power
87a - ground
30 - goes to aftermarket actuator unlock wire

relay 2

85 - constant power
86 - lock wire from vehicle (- trigger)
87 - constant power
87a - ground
30 - goes to aftermarket actuator lock wire

Just installed mine tonight. Because of this thread, I was able to locate the correct wires and get it right the first time. I used the grommet just below the kick panel on the front passenger side and then tidied up the wiring along the frame rail.

I will take the OP's advice and add some foam around the actuator to dampen the vibration caused when closing the tailgate. Would be great if Pop & Lock would include it with their product. Minor oversight in an otherwise complete kit. Very happy with the results!

This has been stated before but as a reminder, there are two violet wires with gray stripes. They are slightly different gauges - you want the one that is the same gauge as the gray wire with the brown stripe. This is the bigger of the two by my account.
