Word of caution for out of state buyers

Things I have learned about this subject so far.

It appears all 2017 raptors have an emissions sticker under the hood that mentions California and ULEV. ULEV is a California emissions standard.

All raptors ordered under 49 state non green will not have a Certificate of origin that says California emissions but will have the sticker we talk about under the hood.

I spoke with New York State DEC. They handle our emissions. Over the phone they said if the sticker under the hood shows California in anyway then it can be registered in NY.

NYS has a form called "Certification of Emissions" This form has several purposes but one is for a car/truck that has California emissions but does not display it on the certificate of origin.

From what I have seen 2017 is the first year the f150 ordered as a 49 state truck displays a Cali emissions status.

At this point I do not know anyone that has tried to register a 49 state truck in a green state.

For most manufacturers the sticker is the only difference.

CA emissions

I seen what you posted, i went to the Maryland DMV website and it says nothing about emissions and only talkes about the CO, the CA DMV only talks about the emissions sticker, this is off the New York DMV webiste;

My vehicle complies with the California emissions standard but this is not indicated on the MCO, or I don't have the MCO. What can I do?

If your vehicle complies with the California emissions standard, but the MCO does not indicate compliance or you do not have an Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO), you or the automobile dealer can certify compliance on a 'Certificate of Emissions Compliance or Exemption' form (MV-74)

Looks like the MV-74 is the ticket because you have CA emissions, i think some states go by the CO and others go by the vehicle emissions.

I checked and the 6.2L 2014 had just one listing and both Federal and California certification so it appears all 2014's were CA Certified. But that is not what I found for all of the 3.5 Eco Boosts. I found the 2016 3.5L has some that only list a federal Certification and then ones that had the California certification with a different EVAP number. So it might be possible that all the raptors have the same certification then it would not be an issue, but if for had them certified separate like the 2016's then that could cause issues.

Here is the 2014 Certification for California. But Ford still does not have the 2017 F150's on the fleet site yet.

If anyone accidentally buys a truck they can't register in their state please send it to me and I'll register it, drive it for 7500 miles and give it back to you to register in your state. You're welcome.

We'll only need you to register it in your state then it can be driven in a CARB state

FWIW, Ford performance today told me that Ford all the 2017 raptors are now CARB compliant.

Yes all 2017 F150 ECO 3.5 are CA Emissions, even the ones from the 49 states. If your from CA you can buy one from any state and register it in CA, I Talk to a Tech Specialist at the CA DMV today and confirmed it, CA goes by the emissions sticker only.

For other green states you need to find out if your state goes by the emissions sticker or the "CO" Certificate of Origin. If its the CO you need to check with that DMV because some have a form to fill out and others wont let you.
