I have tried 2 ways to paint the rear emblems.
Method #1
1. Clean emblem thoroughly - denatured alcohol works well.
2. Lay emblem flat and fill in black area, or whatever part you do not want painted, with liquid mask (picture below)
3. Prime and paint emblem
4. Remove liquid mask
This way worked alight. There is a small amount of the factory gray that does not get painted right on the inside edge where it is raised. Not noticeable from 2+ feet away.
