This is a fun run will take multiple days and involve sleeping on the trail at night in Nevada mountains. This will have high speed desert racing with mountain climbing. It runs partially through Naval weapons training area where they practice bomb runs. Runs near and active Gold mine over two mountains and through several valleys. You will need helmets, water, food, tent, 2 spare gas cans, 5 gallon spare water can, 2 spare tires... There is no AAA so we will be depending on each other, and I dont leave anyone behind. If you have an intrest let me know in this thread so I can plan accordingly.... It will meet in Reno on the night of 8-30 and depart Saturday 7 AM with a driver meeting before departure. What hotel in Reno is up in the air.. My goal depnds on trucks the more the better but at about 12 or more we can break it in to groups... I will pre-run this in July or early august to create the exact course. It will end Monday afternoon back in Reno..... This is labor day weekend...

It's pretty early so I have to say maybe, but am definitely interested! I will try to have a better answer soon.
Ending Monday afternoon is a good plan. There is no reason to get in a hurry to come back toward the Bay area. Last Labor Day I left Reno at 1 pm and made it back to Fairfield at 8 pm! Loads of traffic and an a few accidents on the freeway didn't help matters.

Here is an early plug for anyone needing their 2nd spare for this run. I have an extra 2012/13 version rim for sale, just let me know.

Barring an unforeseen event, I'm in. I should be able to help with the pre-run. However, I don't know if I could do 3 days for the pre-run. It's kind of tough as I have vacation plans for the 4th of July. Would it be possible to do it in 2 days?

I might grab that spare from you MB. I'm glad I have time to get my truck ready for this. I really want to get an exact spare with a tiregate but I don't know if I want to drop that kind of money. Plus I like having the bakflip. Decisions, decisions!!

I can't wait for this one!

My goal will pre-run it starting Saturday Morning 6AM drive like crazy all day saturday, end Saturday night in a hotel in round mountain, 6am on the road Sunday finish in reno by 6PM Sunday... Lots of seat time in a short period... After the pre=run I will have an exact route for everyone to follow... But the pre-run will be hold on to your seat drive like hell and hope no cattle wander in to the road... Probably pre-run the weekend after 4th of july or the weekend after that, it will be hot and expect daily temps will be triple digits then... But its a dry heat... lol...

Perfect! I can just leave after work Friday. Reno's only 3 hours from Vallejo so I'd probably roll in around 9-10pm Friday night.

I'll be out of town the 4th-8th. So other than the 1st weekend in July I should be able to make the pre-run.

We did something like this last Aug. The hotels downtown can present parking issues due to low clearance parking garages. Circus circus has out door parking availble, but a bunch of us stayed at the Silver Legacy & the Raptor fits in their garage. Labor Day Weekend is also the weekend for the Rib Cook off, so room availability might be tough.
