I really want one of these, but I think its a bit of a fail that you need a SIM card to get GPS to work when the truck comes with a GPS antennae from the factory. Not a deal breaker, but a major bit of heartburn when I heard that

No you dont you can just use carplay. But yes it seems you lose native gps . Which i never use.

You can also hotspot your phone if you don't want to use the SIM card to get internet Data to the Unit.

After multiple issues with carplay connectivity and troubleshooting with customer support, they claim the Carplay chip is defective and to ask amazon for a return. So I guess I will be removing it tomorrow to send back.

That sucks. Hope it was just a single faulty unit. Seemed many were happy with them and my no seein' ass NEEDs a bigger screen, etc, etc.

Keep us updated, like he said hopefully its just a faulty unit.

I've already got the replacement on order so I can just swap the units and send the defective one back. Can't believe how patient and helpful customer service is.

Side note: Does anyone know how to get the splash animation from the factory headunit on to a flash drive? They are going to teach me how to change the boot logo when I get the new unit.

Can you change the logo to the Raptor / FP one? That’d be important to me.
