Hi folks,

My name is Kwasi and I’m your Canadian Ford Customer Service representative.

My primary role here will be to answer any questions you may have about newer models, to assist with vehicle concerns, and to track any vehicle orders you may be placing. I am in the office 11:00 a.m until 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. If I need to be out of the office (illness, holidays, etc.) I’ll be sure to post out-of-office messages.

Generally speaking, I’ll keep my eyes open for any relevant discussion and jump in publicly to assist whenever possible. If you have something you want to talk to me directly about, feel free to send me a PM. The only time I’ll ask you to reach out privately is when I’m looking for personal information, but I’ll make sure you all know what to send over if and when that time comes.

Some items that I probably won’t be able to help with include: older/high-mileage vehicles, details about future vehicles that aren't yet made public, vehicle modifications, and questions/concerns about in-vehicle technology.

I’m excited to finally be here as part of this community and I’m looking forward to speaking with you all soon!

Hi folks,

Hi Kwasi:

I am on my second Raptor, first a 2010 SuperCab and now a 2012 SuperCrew. Both of them have had an issue with the rear defroster/window whereby after activating the defroster, the rear window shattered. The first time it happened on my 2010, the rubber trim surrounding the window actually caught fire! I've detailed both of these instances in two seperate forum threads here and at another for Raptor forum. The dealer replaced the window under warranty both times it happened on my prior and now this truck but has never been able to tell me WHY it happened. I've been in contact with Ford Customer Care since the first incident in Nov 2011 and after repeated follow-up on my part, they have never been able to figure out the cause...or at least relay to me what the cause was. This is a serious safety issue in my opinion, as noted in the first incident the rubber trim surround caught fire and if I had left the truck unattended/warming up when this happened, it could've burned the truck and my house to the ground!
I do love driving the Raptor (as I'm on my second one) but frankly this issue is so much of a concern to me that I rarely turn on the rear window defroster even in our cold Canadian Winters! And even then, I had this issue occur again last month on my 2012!

The reason that I'm posting this on the open forum is because there have been a number of other Raptor owners both on this and other forums that this has happened to...and some of them even state that Ford has denied them warranty coverage for what is clearly an inherent design/safety flaw. I'm sure that they would be interested in hearing an explanation as well.

To be perfectly blunt, I'm not expecting much beyond a standard form response after over two years of chasing this issue but I'd love for you to prove me wrong!

Please PM me if you'd like to get further detail/ personal info regarding these incidents.

Thanks!

Hi Ramrodthrusterpuppy,

Thank you for reaching out to me, my friend. :) I understand your concern and will be happy to get it looked into. Have you contacted your dealer lately regarding this issue? Please pass on the current odometer reading; I will check the available resources.

Not sure what his odometer reading has to do with anything....
