I'm pleased with the way it looks right now. I was going to do the black Sharpie method of dying the thread to match but it looks fine as is. I'm afraid the black Sharpie might bleed into the leather and ruin it. I already wasted $110 on a custom embroidered "Raptor" leather cover that didn't look right and $150 for this OEM piece so I'm being extra careful! I'm all in for $260 to get this little mod completed. I like the way it feels on my elbow. It is soft but not so soft that I leave an impression or get a mushy feel. Quality piece.
