So in the HAM world, when you make a transmission, you call out the name of the person you're trying to reach and your name for identification. Now, this isn't done with EVERY transmission, but when we have so many trucks with so many distinct, short transmissions, I see it being beneficial.
I like the idea of numbering the trucks per group and keeping that ordering, and naming the lead and chase, just like Huck came up with.
That way, Bravo Lead could call out "Bravo group, Bravo lead, Ready to Roll?" and they could transmit right through the group. "Bravo 2 ready to roll" "Bravo 3 ready to roll" "Bravo Chase ready to roll"
Also, it will easily identify who's missing, and it will help getting the trucks lined, up, especially the first day.
I think obstacles/oncoming vehicles/tricky turns are going to continue to get called out. I think we're all concerned about the folks behind us. I don't think it's going to change much. So I think we need to work on making it more effective. Maybe something like "Bravo Group-Bravo 8. Slippery off camber right hand turn at Y intersection." When Chase passes the point of interest, it can give the other group members, especially Lead and indication of how far back Chase is.
Just my 2 cents, but I dig Huck's idea. But then again I'm a radio HAM nerd.

I also like the idea of Blaze orange for the Chase and Lead stickers. Do we even go as far as orange flags off the rear? Is that a problem on public roads? Would it have helped at all?
