Sorry to hear this phyguy...nothing short of disgusting to hear this and really makes me think I need a camera now.

Curious on all these cameras: do all of them record audio, and is there a way to disable it? I strongly dislike the idea of recording audio, it has no relevance to the use of device. I don't want everything I say in my vehicle recorded (especially in the case of phone calls, where it's even illegal).

Additionally, how are these powered? I'd prefer to have it on switched vehicle battery power. If the unit has its own rechargeable battery, great, but I'd want it vehicle powered when the truck is running.

After reading the details in the report, she told the police verbally and in a written statement that she wasn't changing lanes much less cutting my lane to get to a turn lane. In the picture I got of her car immediately after the accident she has her turn signals on. I'm going to be contacting the officer today to see if that matters as well as consulting an attorney for his advice in this situation. Thanks everyone.

That sucks. And those lanes are very clearly marked from a long way back (all the way from Quebec, methinks). I know a guy that I've played hockey with that has his own shop over on Santa Fe & Hampden. You should at least swing by & ask him to take a look.

This is why I ALWAYS drive with a forward facing camera recording. I bought a inexpensive Samsung and have it secured to a Cruise Cam mount that is attached to the seat. Its always a good idea to have an independent witness in the car with you (the camera).

Sorry to hear this! It does suck but with the lack of evidence it will be a he said she said and that is going to be tough because her insurance will be involved and they will fight this. Got to pick your battles and this is one that will be very hard to win.

Think of it this way--don't throw good money after bad. This scenario has little chance of giving you any ROI imho.

Thanks. I'm not really worried about the truck as I know it will get fixed. I'm a little pissed that my insurance will go up and I'll get a couple points on my license.

I'm SUPER pissed that she lied to the cops to cover her ass. I'm tempted to throw her under the buss just to see her squirm. But, you're right...she's got some issues to lie like that. Karma will be her enemy in the long run.
