Local guy says his product is 3M 1080C, anyone familiar with this? Just want to make sure it's not a vastly inferior material.

Also, Satin or Gloss black to go on my avalanche?

3M 1080 and Avery are two of the best products to work with. Many installers won't even touch others due to hassle and sometimes impossible applications.

You're in good hands with 3M's Vinyl

Would the waste material they cut out for the moonroof be usable to wrap the B-Pillars? What condition would the glossy B-Pillars be in after removing the wrap at some point down the road? Just wondering if the adhesive would damage to the point where you'd just have to re-wrap?

Reason I ask is I'm only on 200 miles but already notice some imperfection in the B-Pillar finish.

I don't have an answer for you but my truck (and all other F-150s with the gloss black B-pillars) has shown swirl marks since I picked it up from the dealer. The finish is extremely susceptible to micro scratches so you have to be very careful when cleaning it. Same deal on my '16 XLT.

I met with the installer and he wasn't concerned at all about damage/residue with the 3M product on the gloss pillar plastic. He's going to salvage the moonroof excess and wrap the pillars. It's a few weeks out but I'll follow up with some pics here for sure.

Only threat of peeling would be from some aftermarket respray paint job. Factor paint holds up totally fine to peeling vinyl. It helps to peel it in a warmer climate or at least blast with a heatgun a little bit.

Had my roof wrapped along with my hood:

Where'd you get it done? I'm assuming you're in Anchorage, so sorry if I'm wrong. I have one of the Avalanche Gray Raptors here in town and would like to get my roof wrapped as well.
