Last vehicle I painted cost me just under $2000, but that was a small truck painted by a discount shop 30+ years ago.
I doubt you can buy just the materials needed to paint a full size truck for much under $2K nowadays.
Wraps are very competitve to paint price wise- which is why they are done so often. The downside is they do not last in the sun.
