The biggest issue I found with wrap is that it is near impossible, that I found, to color match your paint. If you wrap - you need to do the whole vehicle.

Do freak out. I’m having them painted along with the bumpers with ppf. This is what I’m after. But with these 17” methods.

Wraps will be a lot more durable than paint in terms of chips etc.. What color is your truck?

I think by that point it would be just cheaper to buy another set of fender flares and paint them.

Typically the best way to go but more expensive. Paint match the flare then throw some self healing expel (or film of your choice) on there. I haven't seen a wrap that looked truly color matched. But maybe the tech is getting better
