I have some Fiberwerx fenders and bedsides coming and wanted some opinions on either wrapping or painting to match the factory color.

Has anyone ever wrapped to color matched the Ford tuxedo black paint? It would be cool to change the whole color of the truck but not if I want to take it that far. As far as painting what has everybody been quoted before?

Thanks

Idk if I'd try and color match vinyl with factory paint. It's probably going to be pretty noticeable with a piece like that.

If you want to do the whole truck then I'd say wrap it. If you just want to color match the new glass then I'd say have them painted

You think it would be that difficult Zach? I'm considering the same.

It's gonna depend a lot on color. I've seen some pics of flares that were wrapped to be color matched and they were pretty damn close but if they're a little off it's not as bad because the flares are naturally separated. The whole fender next to the door and hood might be too noticeable if you try and color match with vinyl.

It would definitely be the easiest and most cost effective route but it depends on what you plan on doing. My truck is already wrapped so it would be easy to wrap the new fenders. If I didn't have it wrapped I would probably pay the extra and have it painted to match the factory color.

The factory tuxedo black has a damn near perfect vinyl match with the 3m 1080 black metallic.

I think thats the best route. And if you ever get scratches or it dulls you can just redo that one panel for pretty cheap.

I would say paint them but I'm old school. $90 quart of paint $40 primer $10 harbor freight spray gun and a little elbow grease. And some YouTube videos

I wrapped my old black raptor fenders and bumpers in the 3m metallic black and it was an almost perfect match, I highly recommend it!
