Hello everyone:

I was getting nostalgic and remembered the supercharged 5.8L "Trinity" motor that was exclusive to the 2013-14 GT500. It produced 662 HP and 631 LB.FT.TQ. and was rated to get 24 MPG on the highway. Much better than the Predators 18 MPG. Wouldn't it be awesome if Ford would've put it into the Raptor R. It has the best exhaust note in my opinion and has globs of torque and was as reliable as heck. Let me know your thoughts:

Ahhh the 4.6 v8 was terrible... had to have a special tool just for this motor when changing out spark plugs. They were prone to breaking in half while trying to remove them and would usually require an extraction tool which I permanently bought. Ended up selling the vehicle a few years later cause I was just not a fan of the motor.
That issue only pertains to the 3V variant of the 4.6/5.4 (2003-2007). They redesigned the spark plugs for 2008 with a solid one piece design that prevents them from breaking in the head. The Motorcraft replacement plug use the 1-piece design.

That issue only pertains to the 3V variant of the 4.6/5.4 (2003-2007). They redesigned the spark plugs for 2008 with a solid one piece design that prevents them from breaking in the head. The Motorcraft replacement plug use the 1-piece design.
Exactly. I have a 2003 5.4L 2v and had zero problems with it.

Yah all Shelbys are fast. That is a 2010-12 GT500. They had a supercharged 5.4L V8. It produced 550 HP and 510 LB.FT.TQ.. Still fast, just not as fast as the 5.8L. If you think they are really fast (which they are) wait to you ride in a 5.8L 2013-14 GT500 with good tires (the stock Goodyears are four icecubes).

Personally think the 5.4 s/c that came with the 11-12 GT500s is better, especially if you wanted to modify it. 5.8 was kinda pushed to the limit. From the svtp forums people really couldnt add much without goin to e85.

Like mentioned before, the 7.3 Godzilla wouldve been an amazing fit, also couldve been way cheaper (relatively)

as far as fuel mileage the 13/14 shelby had taller (smaller numerically) 6th gear and final driver in pursuit of that whole 200mph thing so the lower cruising rpm would make sense for it to have better mpg at highway speed

Well I am not going to override what million dollar engineers are paid to do so I prefer the 5.8L.
