Finally heard back today, evidently this is the way Ford has designed this, lighter color on top and darker on the bottom. The service consultant said he checked the new raptor they had for sale and it was the same. Honestly i was pissed, however after looking at many for sale, various years, it does appear almost all of them have different colors on the top and the bottom , typically the top is lighter. Anyone know why this is and was there a reason Ford designed this mismatching color combination?

* I found it ironic that he spent twice as much time lecturing me on how important that my service survey is to the dealership and that the dealership is not Ford, LOL!

LOL I was going to be the grammar police, but then the voice in my head spoke up, the one that says "don't be a ****". The one I usually ignore.

Normally that little voice wins, but in this case exceptable has a different meaning. Just wanted to make my meaning clear. And be a ****.

You paid how much for this monster truck? I'm not OCD. Lot of things don't bother me. Mistakes are made. But the fact you have to come back after a screwup the first two times, so you can show them, place an order and have to come back for them to possibly fix it again, I'd be bloody pissed. And they better not be snobby ***** like the service guys at Napa Ford. I may request them to have the part shipped directly to my house for a pre install inspection

Normally, I ask the dealer not to attempt detailing unless that person has a show car of his own. Also, I ask that they don't bother with their ads stuck to my vehicle, because it's the first item on my agenda to remove when it arrives at home.

I can wash/polish/detail my own vehicle.

I simply asked the service consultant to order a new set so they might at least come from the same die lot and be similar in color, he said his manger would not allow him and that he ordered another top piece just to appease me!

* I traveled to the other coast today for business and stopped by another Ford dealership who had a new white raptor for sale, same issue!

My 2014 SCREW is my first Ford product... previously owned Toyota's, Acura's, Lexus, and Mercedes... and even a Hyundai. I really wish the domestics would spend more time on the fit and finish... out of all those makes I've owned I would say the Raptor has the poorest assembly quality and fit and finish. The mismatch colors means that Ford does not control their subcontractors very well... looks like they leave a wide tolerance in their specs on what is allowable to past their incoming parts quality control. They probably do this to save cost since this allows their subs to reject less and also not have to control their processes as tightly. If the imports can make vehicles with matched body panels and consistent gaps and higher quality plastics and sell them at the same price or less there should be no reason why our domestics can't do the same. I love the way my Raptor drives and there's a lot of thought put into the engineering of the truck.. but the execution falls short. It's still a good truck but it could be a great world class truck if Ford would just spend a little more time on the quality, ergonomics, and fit and finish.

I would give up on your quest. I just looked at mine and took a picture. Odd though but from the drivers side it doesn't look as noticable.
