New owner here, purchased ‘24 801a in December. Traded in 2020 At4 1500.
While test driving I immediatley noticed how much more quiet in cabin than previous GM’s and ride quality was much smoother.
I’ve noticed over the last few weeks that wind/road noise seemed to be getting louder.
I am very sensitive to cabin noise and have used the decibel x app on iPhone to gauge interior noise. All my previous trucks were in the 65db range while cruising at 70 including my wife’s Tahoe and a ‘21 Tacoma I own for my small business.
I was completely surprised when I get consistent 85dbA plus cruising in the Raptor at 60-70 mph. I even bought a decibel meter as I didn’t trust the app to be accurate. With the db meter same 85dbA plus which osha considers anything above 80db to cause hearing loss.
My truck does not feel like it’s loud enough for hearing loss but does seem quite a bit louder than when driving off lot. Door alignment looks good, nothing noticeable there.
Anyone used db meter for cabin noise? It seems 90% wind noise rather than road noise.
