According to an anonymous source at Ford who spoke to a "well-sourced informant", the hotly-anticipated Raptor will be powered by a 5.2-liter V8 supercharged to make anywhere between 725 and 750 horsepower.

Hopefully, this is true.
This is true, but the V8 will be a limited run. But we get a higher output v6 too. Yay! Exciting times.

So then the question is:
How much is the premium for the +2 cylinders and +200hp ?
Also what is the weight penalty ?
One of the great things about the Raptor is that it does not feel particularly heavy.
The TRX is much heavier, but that engine is an anchor.
Loved it in my Hellcat Challenger, but you really know that it's there.

Whatever happened to that Ford patent that showed electric motors mounted to both sides of the engine block, which powered the front wheels?

Drop the xfer case and associated hardware for the fronts. You can retain the PB trans for more power to the rear or drop it and just go with the electric front propulsion.

Maybe I’m old school. But there’s no replacement for displacement. Bring in the big blocks. I’d take it with a 460 and a 5 speed.
