Why not just HID bulbs and ballast

Cant you just install HID bulbs and ballasts in an f150. Did these on a few other cars with great results. Ran about $100 total and takes 20 minutes to install.

You can. The problem is that the hid lights over power the stock housings and you get a TON of spilled light in to oncoming traffics eyes. Who has could lead to a crash and you to blame for your lights being too bright.

I did it to mine & with the stock deflectors in place, they are just as "oncoming" friendly as the stock halogens. Just make sure you adjust the light height & don't use anything over 6000k. JMO

Oh god we already had this argument. I have them in my stock housings. The cutoff is very acceptable. I run 35W 6000k.

What bulbs did you use - whose products do you recommend?

those 6ks look pretty good. I just dont like the riced out Blue/purple.

I would go with 5000k if you're worried about any blue at all.
