At Baja Designs our products are not only for performance, but also safety. While an effective forward-projecting lighting package is so you can see where you're going, chase lights allow others to see you. Adding a chase light allows for visibility in the rear when encountering dust or harsh conditions so your vehicle can be easily seen by groups behind you. The chase light often gets overlooked as the last piece to the puzzle for most lighting packages, however, a chase light should be one of the first light modifications you should consider when building an effective lighting package for your offroad vehicle.

For optimal performance in dust, snow, or fog, amber is the ideal choice. While red, green, or blue lenses can be used, they are generally used for race applications only. Amber light is universally recognized as a caution light, making it a great option for chase lighting as well. Additionally, amber effectively cuts through dust and inclement weather, improving visibility in challenging conditions.

The two best lens choices are Wide Cornering or Work/Scene. By flooding the light, you create a more enjoyable experience for those behind you. It's essential to diffuse the light as much as possible to prevent blinding others, while still making it easy for them to spot your position on the trail.

With Baja Designs UService Technology, your chase light doesn't have to stay a chase light forever. You can easily swap the lens pattern or color, with the exception of the RTL, allowing you to reposition the light anywhere on your vehicle without needing to purchase a new one. Plus, if you already have a forward-facing Baja Designs light, you can simply buy the appropriate lens and convert it into a chase light.

So, which one is right for you? If you're looking for a simple, compact setup, the S1/S2 provides an extra layer of safety without breaking the bank. The Squadron light, though slightly more expensive, offers great versatility in various applications and mounting positions. Its increased intensity and power enable it to serve as a chase, cargo, and scene light all in one. The RTL is our premium option, offering additional features like brake, reverse, and chase functions, unlike the basic on/off function of traditional auxiliary lights. No matter which setup you choose, one thing is certain: safety comes first when off-roading, and regardless of your budget, we have a
trusted solution for you.
