Who would have thought Ford would be over 10 years ahead of their time.

Are you just being sarcastic? Pretty sure GM (& yes now “Stellantis” has been churning out plenty of V8s w/ factory installed roots-type blowers for quite a while. GMs putting a blown V8 into the damn Escalade next lol!!

Toyota used to sell the tundra w/ factory SC option (altho dealer installed I think?)

2011 was the first year Ford put an eco boost engine into a truck, but it really was BMW that got the industry geared toward smaller displacement twin turbos w/ better efficiency & reduced lag starting in 2006 w/ their N54 engine

They were also kinda the Guinea pigs in terms of finding out why GDI shouldn’t really be the sole form of fuel injection on a turbo motor long term lol-
That’s my point. I’m familiar with BMWs and VW running twin turbos on small engines. Anecdotally, I’ve heard they also tend to have a lot of issues.

I was not aware that GM was throwing factory-installed SC on their engines tho. That’s pretty cool. Have you seen many irl? I also don’t see many forced induction yotas running around, but I know they’re out there.

Would you look at that. RAM drops the TRX as soon as the Gen 3 Raptors hit the pavement at dealers, and now they are going to a twin turbo 6. LOL.

RAM is clearly riding the coat tails of Ford.

Ram didn’t drop the TRX after the 3rd Gen Raptor landed. It’s been known for a while the Hellcat motor was going away after 2023.

I‘ve said it for a while, had Ford never come out with the Raptor we would have never seen a TRX. Chevy is even adding the ZR2 package to the 1500 platform (not exactly a Raptor fighter, but it’s a good upgrade for Chevy owners who want more than a Trail Boss). Every manufacturer takes ideas from the other guy. Competition is a good thing, because the consumer is always the winner.

That said, if Ford has the guts to build a factory made Raptor with a Supercharged V-8, would they be riding Ram’s coat tails?

Any thoughts on this fellas? How are they going to make 500hp on this thing with turbos bolted to the block? Seems kinda weird.

See link: lots of pics of the block and intake etc. c
