I dont think the engine is what is going to give your trouble in these Gen 3s.

1200 miles. Picked up my youngest from school. Turned on the truck and all the raptor settings were gone. Could not adjust shocks, steering, exhaust. All the corresponding dash icons were gone. When I pressed the exhaust, steering, shock button the screen flashed “unavailable”. Turned the truck off and back and it started working again.

Motor works fine :). I would say these are probably solid up to 100,000 miles. Of course so much depends on maint, wear, abuse. If you pull 10K every day for 50,000 miles and dont change the oil, sure its not going to last.

Gen 3 does have a lot more gizmos than the previous gen. So would expect them to have a little more issues.

Sounds to me
Like no one here really has any definitive answer… all I see is speculation.

just did a quick search on cargurus for 2015+ navigators nationwide. I'm not sure which year the HO engines were put in those, but there are a number of vehicles available with over 200k miles

If you have to put a deposit down for a Hummer, does that mean you had to buy her a ring and recently got engaged?

If it meant I could drive a Hummer EV vs a Gen 3 Raptor for MSRP + 7500-10k in gas a year then yes I guess so.

If you want to approach it from long-term reliability, then the 6.3 is a baby. The small block Chevy &Fords have been around a whole lot longer, so the 6.3 isn’t even in the longevity game. Neither is the entire line of Ecoboost engines, along with ALL the gasoline direct-injection engines. If you extrapolate time in service with number of different “issues” were not even in the calculations.

An anvil will generally outlast a bench-vice hammer plate, but the vice is WAY more useful…
6.2 not 6.3 and 12 years is considered being around for a long time these days.

Why be such a *** fan boy of the ford 6.2? The chevy LS 6.2 is a way better in size and has higher output on a pushrod setup. The ford 6.2 tows less than the 3.5 , and combined w the steel body the truck weighs 6k lbs. the 3.5 ***** on the 6.2 on everything above the 1500 rpm. And its not like the 6.2 is this bemch mark of reliability. Its still an OVer head cam engine which add timing chains. I personally think pushrod engines are more reliable. I have a jeep 4.0 thats at 240,000 miles and running really good still. Really small timing set thats never been changed.
Im not a fan boy of either the 6 or the 8 both have their qualities. But u must admit the 3.5 is an advanced concept and after building millions its done well.
The Ford 6.2 Raptor engine put out more power than the Chevy 6.2 when it debuted. I like the Ecoboost 3 5 and would buy one for the right price.
