might want to reread it again... and again... and again.... lol

as for mods.....
just on THIS truck....
ADD UCA, LCA, Tie rods, Fox 3.0 all around, Deaver +3's front and rear bumpers
then i scrapped all that and went with Rogue Racing Stage 4 front suspension with a sprung under cantilever rear end, upgraded the shocks and also added the finned aluminium reservoirs. Rogue Racing Throttle and revolver bumpers. Later upgraded to Rogue Racing's Renegade bumpers(the prototype of the front was built on this truck), Rogue racing spare tire carrier, 37 inch cooper st max on 17" Fuel Formula wheels, Glassworks front fenders, R1 concepts brake upgrade. TMX bed stabilizer, Joe Rocha custom light rack, Apollo Optic lights. Focal speaker upgrades, JL Audio subs, Apline Amps, JBL sound processor, fat mat and sound absorbing material lined cab, doors and roof, Roush stage 2 supercharger, with the AFCO dual fan upgraded intercooler, Tune and spark plugs from JDM, Ford Racing 65mm Cobra Jet Billet aluminum throttle body, Roush Exhuast, Custom intercooler mount and frame support from Miller Offroad Fabrication........
but wait there's more!

it is currently at Miller Off Road designs getting a few upgrades and redesigns, frame reinforcements, all new Baja Design lights, ARB on board air, new tube built bed, Boatec fenders, new light bars, new rear bumper, Icon dual band radio... and a few more goodies

Call or email Jdm. They will get you exactly what you need. Great people to deal with. You don't have to get all the extra crap such as badges and stickers and the exhaust. Go to their website and check their packages. It's a lot better looking that 9600. Plus you get their tune which I hear is top notch. Mine is still in the mail so I won't be able to speak first hand for a couple more weeks. I asked them about 300 questions and they were happy to answer all of them. Even the dumb ones

I assume you are advocating Roush?
The $9,600 number was installed, out the door.

The roush seemed to suit me more so that's what I ended up going with. As for install, I don't know what a fair install price is, because me and a coworker are gonna do it. I don't trust any local shops to touch my truck anyways. I also am not familiar with what the "roush in a box" kit costs. The one with the badges and exhaust and so on. I did pick up a boost gauge from Jdm when I ordered. All I know is for about 6900 dollars I'll have a 650 hp raptor. And I'm happy with that. This will be my last engine mod. Sure the whipple is capable of making more power than the roush, but I'm not building my truck to that point

Whipple told us point blank we sell more Raptor blowers than any of there dealers combine!

Just curious. How many kits does whipple sell direct vs. through dealers?

Thousands?? I don't think there is even 100, maybe 50 Raptors that are running a Whipple kit with 60#s and they're tune.

But I can tell you if I had to keep a count of how many times customers call us for complaints about driveability or want more power and switch to our injector and tune combination it has to happen at least 1-2 times per week.

So there's 50 trucks in the country with that combo but you get 2 calls per week to re-tune them?

I don't think we would have a problem making 560 RWHP with a TVS I would take that bet

I can't comment on this because I've hardly ever seen a dyno chart from a Roush truck. Always just assumed there's a reason for that.

but we don't want to push our customers that far because its a little on the edge...

What specifically is on the edge? Pistons? Rods? Rod bolts? Crank? Transmission? Where is the weakest link? I already got an upgraded radiator / engine oil cooler, driveshaft, and billet oil pump gears so I'm good on those fronts.

Nope i wouldn't spend my money on it
but.....
my best friend has one, and i have helped install or test EVERY mod he has done to it, including the 6 different tunes from Whipple to try and fix his issues. Issues like a horrible idle, shutting of while driving, total crap transmission shift points. I and others tried various things recommended by Whipple to no avail, the fix was a tune by JDM and changing out to the 60lb injectors to the recommended ones by JDM.

so... did i spend my money on it. nope!
do i know what i am talking about..

Don't know what was going on, something mechanical?
Could your friend have had a bad injector or two, maybe. Anything is possible.
But your the only one to say you have seen a problem with that setup.

Just saying

I've been running with 60's for a year now, put thousands of miles on it. It's my DD.
Heat wave, 36" of snow never had an issue.
The Tuner writes all the SCT Tune files for Whipple, so there are thousands of Whipple's running his Tune, be it with the 47s or 60s.
He"s tuned some pretty exotic Vehicles for Whipple too.

I'm not sure the numbers, MTF seems to know he should share. But we did ask Mike at Whipple as to who sells the most Raptor kits and he said we have sold over the past 5 years more than any other shop combine...

My guesstimate at 50 is probably low, but I was more making a point that our combination is out there more in volume than Whipple's. They just released there Stage 2 kit with the 60lb injectors and bigger TB because up until recently they had issues with it. We field phone calls everyday for Raptor tuning, all sorts of combinations. When we get calls for Whipple trucks with 60lb injectors which does happen every week we switch them out to 47#s and our tune and every customer has been more satisfied with our combinations.

The quality of 91-93 octane is not that great at power levels over 550 RWHP. We are concerned about detonation at that point. The factory oil pump gears are also fragile and can break. Usually they don't break as a result of power but more from drive-train vibrations ie. tire chatter and wheel hop. But when making about 700HP and 700TQ at the engine (550 RWHP) your not exactly taking it easy on the powdered metal gears either....The Rods and pistons are not forged and for that reason we also take concern. Your fuel system is also close to its limits. The fuel pump is inadequate at that point.

Yes Whipple does have their own in house calibrator who knows a ton about Ford tuning. Their files for the new 15 Mustangs are really what we recommend our customers use as we are still developing our own tuning and from what we can see there tuning is pretty awesome. But they aren't spending new R&D time on the Raptor. Their R&D goes towards new products, kits for other brand vehicles besides Ford even. So they aren't still working every day in the shop on Raptor trucks like we are! We've been doing that for the past 5 years and that's why I'm not afraid to say we are the best at it!

I'm not sure where you are going with this !!
I am a customer of JDM when I called a asked about a supercharger they took the time to answer all my questions with endless knowledge , confidence and quite a bit of patience. After weighing my options they installed a Whipple kit on my Raptor along with a few other mods to compensate for the extra HP and they did a outstanding job. Where JDM leaves all others at the starting line is there ability to tune these beasts. As a team they have spent countless amounts of time testing and tweaking different parameters to provide us IMO the best tunes on the market. I have tried other tunes and they are not event close to what JDM has created. Just look what they did for Gabe.
"Keep up the good work JDM"

JimIII, I do ask what I can share if anything before posting certain info.
Sometimes I get a response, sometimes I don't.
I would never put Whipple in an awkward position with their vendors.

Plus the numbers are not a secret if you follow the whole Whipple social media.
And I'm sure if anybody calls them and ask they would tell them themselves.

Whipple cannot monitor all the forums nor do they have the time to do so.
While I do have an ear somewhat at Whipple, it's only because I try to help, be it Whipple, vendors and customers.
I always try to be fair. If not I'll listen.
