So after airing down, other than on-board air, which portable air compressor do you use to air back up? I was looking at the Smittybilt 2781 5.65 CFM Universal Air Compressor
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004K25GMG/?tag=fordraptorforum-20

or:
VIAIR 400P Portable Compressor
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000X9AXR8/?tag=fordraptorforum-20

Would like to stay around $200 as I won't need it a lot.
Any experience on fill rate would be helpful.

thanks,

Neither, they are light duty compressors and will shut off and restart multiple times before tire fill up. Those two would probably take you at least 30 minutes to fill all 4 tires from 18 lbs to 35 lbs. You need something bigger like this from VIAIR or you should consider a CO2 or HPA system. All will run over $200 though.

lol...i was talking about this with my wife...and she says "you already have one of these, why do you want another"

I have a hand held ryobi that was part of a kit. I can air a soccer ball up in 30 seconds, but would take 30 minutes for one K02. I tried to explain this to her, and she acted like I was speaking Chinese.

OP

I know it wasn’t what you asked for but I have a ARB twin mounted in the bed and it took my tires from ~27psi to ~40psi in 60 seconds per tire.

The reason I mention is that they make a portable version which I believe is the same compressor but with a tank and nice case if that fits what you want.

Downside is I know they are pretty pricey.

Good thread.

How good does this Ryobi actually work? Any other options?!

Point is...it works fine for a soccer ball....but airing up a 35 inch tire......it may kill the tools battery before the tire is full. Super slow. and you have to squeeze the trigger the entire time.

I got a VIAIR rated for 33” tires, less than 3 bills off Amazon. Took me from ~22-~36 PSI in about 5 minutes per tire. I think that’s the smallest I’d consider for the Rap, doubly so if you ever consider 37” tires.
