I have had my Retrax for 2 years now and love it. However, I would recommend the manual version, not the power version if your planning on doing a fair amount of offroading. You dont want to have a locked cover due to motor failure.

I have a horizontal rack in my bed. 1 spare and two 5 gallon fuel cans and it works pefect with the cover. You just cant use vertical rack and a bed cover together.

That's one of the good things about the roll-n-lock, it's got a manual override in case something goes wrong.

I went with the Powertrax One. I had the Pace Edwards Bedlocker electric on my super duty and loved it. I had the Retrax Pro on my last F150 and loved it. So I figured the best combination is the Powertrax Pro. I realized how many odd times I had forgotten to close the bed cover and was rolling down the road and just closed it with the remote when I got a non-powered cover. I don't plan on thrashing my Raptor in the desert or jumping or flying sideways through giant dirt berms like a lot of poeple do. Usually for me usually all that is needed is some light wheeling to get where I'm going. I just have an almost phobic-like aversion to being stuck in the backwoods of Tennessee in places where there is no cell service and no chance of someone happening by with a tractor to pull me out. So... I have a Raptor that will never get used to the extent a lot of the members here will use theirs. I know what would work best for me. That's what matters.

I heard to stay away from rolling covers if you're going to do any off-roading.

I would. Everybody will have differing opinions though. I don't like them due to the fact that our bed is already small and a rolling cover like the ones being talked about here take up about a foot of the bed in the front for the canister.

I ended up getting the manual RNL and I'm very happy with it. I entertained the E but at the end of the day, it's really no big deal to pull the strap (unless your very short). I'm usually in a rush and don't want to fart around waiting for the motor to retract to cover. Plus, I didn't want to deal with another key fob in my pocket.

Anyone look at Truck Covers USA?
I heard they were theee best quality. I too don't like to carry a keyfob. I might settle for a Manual.

Overall, it's probably the best retractable cover because:
1. Aluminum slats are interconnected (by metal) and are not connected by rubber. And, slat seams are sealed beneath the cover.
2. The top surface of the aluminum has a texture that will hide scratches.
3. Small canister, only 8" x 8".
4. Curtain is double-walled aluminum (So is the RetraxPro, Pace Edwards full metal is not).

One con though is that the cover requires 4 drain tubes (2 in front, 2 at the rear) instead of the typical two in the front.
