I'm about to order the Recon Projector Headlights w/ CCFL and I'm in a dilemma as in which HID setup to go with. Any solid recommendations? Also I'll have to get 4 bulbs due to the separate hi/lo beams.

I've heard good reviews about Retrofit but would also like some other opinions.

-Thanks!

I never hear anything good about Recon. And never hear anything bad about Retrofit. There is another guy that mods the recons to make them look badass too.

I have the Raptor Retrofit lights with the FXR projector and the Osram SVS bulbs in the Raptor.. In a word awesome! Just put the DOT legal HID Hella 90mm projectors in the Jeep---more money and not even close to the same light coverage as the FXR's that are from Rapor Retrofit.

The Recon stuff is junk--pay for what you get in this case.

I would stay away from the Recons. Cut off lines are horrible and when using with HID bulbs it's even worse. When you run HID bulbs you should never turn them on and off right away as in their Lo/hi beam set up.
A HID bulb should be allowed to cool for a certain amount of time before restarting it. In the initial start up of a HID bulb / ballast the ballast pumps out higher watts to warm up the bulb to temperature before tapering off and if you for example flash your hi beams in these Recon lights you cut power to the low beams to turn on Hi's and then reengage the low's to only pump out that Hi wattage once again hence shortening the life span of your bulbs.
In the videos below these are Recon / Spyder style lights that have been Retrofitted with a true Bi-Xenon projector light giving the full function of a low / hi beam in one while not shutting off your bulb anymore but rather removing the cut-off shield from it's path. By doing this now the reflector bowl(Old Hi beam) can become an Off-Road light giving you "Double" the light output from before by connecting it to an up-fitter switch.
If you like the dual light set-up I would check out RSiWORKS

If you like the single light set-up check out Dawson from Raptor Retrofit who has some very kick ass looking lights.

Both of these folks are good choices---please give this careful consideration. The other problem is that you don't want to be left in the dark lol..

Might save money on other things in the modification process on the truck but imho the light only an Idiot goes with junk on the headlights...

I went with the 2013 OEM Ford HID headlights for $900.00, at that price I thought they were a steal and you can always upgrade them later if you wish.
