do people really spend 10k on a vehicle system?
I have a friend with 500k in 5 different vehicles....10K is NOTHING. It adds up soooo fast.

Let's see..mine top of my head

Gately Enclosure $1500
Gately 8" subs...400 each....times 4
Zen $800
Sundown Audio SALT 200.4 $750
Sundown Audio SALT-4 $1400
JL Audio C3's $500
Sundown Audio 6.5 Neo Pros $200
112ah Lithium Battery $2000
$500 in wire

Then up until yesterday I had another bass setup that was two Sundown Audio 12" ZV5 subs that were almost a grand each and an enclosure for them that was a grand. Also a Sundown Audio SALT-6 that I had on them. But if I want to keep the seats in and get the bass I want I need to do a blow-through with an enclosure similiar to this which I'm sure is a $5000 enclosure not counting the subs and amps of course.

Oh man you would have to be the only raptor with one lol. I sat in one years ago with pretty cheap gear in an old s10… it was LOUD haha.
Yeah, totally not what the truck is for...a waste actually. Most people are not into bass like me....might be my age...50...ok maybe not my age. lol. I wouldn't argue with anyone calling me an idiot...just always liked stereo. Learned ALOT about them in the last year and no longer need a stereo shop which is where the money goes. I also didn't mention all the sound deadening and block off plates I have done. Maybe 1500 in that....it adds up like I said.

It’s your money and enjoyment. I can tell you’re very passionate and knowledgeable. I remember when we used power boosters, speaker wire to the booster and from there to speakers. No crossover, batteries, Zen … we had tone control only. Lol I ungraded a little GMC I had with a Pioneer 120 watt amp, we could drive some Bose home speakers at the lake. My iPhone has better sound. Lol

Im definitely out of touch these days with car or truck sound systems, however my 2023 seems a little laking in overall sound quality for a truck close to 100k. Im not looking at thumping through my neigborhood, adding amps and subwoofers, I just want a nice full sounding surround sound without spending thousands of dollars. First off, the native sound seems too front speaker centric to me. I adjusted the Fade to more back speakers and it does sound a little better but...Damn, I really had to drag that slider to the very back for the sound to equal out. I lost so much front speaker "depth" in doing so. Makes me think theres a HUGE back speaker opportunity? Could it be as simple as replacing the back speakers with a better quality speaker? Would replacing the speakers in this truck with higher quality speaker do the trick? Thoughts?

You have a few simple ways to improve the factory, like block-off plates for the doors and some sound treatment. Just changing the speakers will not make a big difference, but it does help. For an $800 speaker investment, you will receive a 10% better sound quality... So we do not recommend that option due to the $$$$ vs performance.

If you want better performance, you will have to invest $$$ to do it the right way. Here is a popular package we offer that won't break the bank, but provide you an enjoyable experience.

"Stealth" Gladen Audio RS 5-channel Passive Pre-Tuned Plug & Play Behind the Seat Stereo Upgrade (B&O Including Unleashed)

You can also purchase everything a la carte, but you will need everything in that package for an upgrade. Delete one item and your performance will drastically drop. Think of all of those items as ingredients and you have to decide who you want as your chef :)

Yeah, good sound, no wait, great sound in a vehicle is not easy to achieve. Just watch savage geese on YouTube where they mention the quality of the sound in every vehicle they test And show the lab test results. Very few are any good from the factory. In my somewhat vast experience with vehicles, including multiple Porsches, BMWs, and on and on, I’ve yet to hear what I consider good quality sound OEM, aside from the meridian system in Range Rover.

When you go aftermarket, you are talking big bucks, as @Shane361 said. And he’s not nuts at all. If that’s what you like and want, go for it.

there is no easy. and sound in a vehicle is not surround sound. there needs to be a frint stage to give height width and depth of the sound stage. in a vehicle it should sould like you are sitting watching them play in front of you surround sound is for home theater. dont try to compare the two.

im in thornton, you can come by anytime to listen to mine and get an idea of how it should sound
I may take you up on it....appreciate the offer.
