Recently purchased my 2018 Gen 2. Had 75k miles. I put a couple hundred miles on it and like the truck but wasnt that impressed with power delivery, overall performance feel, transmission shifts, etc. Yesterday I installed a new battery since the current one was the original. Unhooked the battery for Id guess 10 minutes. Installed new one. Drove it this morning and holy schnikies!!!!!!!!!!! Its like a completely different truck. Shifts in S mode way quicker, holds RPMs longer, felt like a damn sports car!! So is that possible? Unhooking the battery reset the computers?? Or since battery was showing 12.2v static, could it be the truck needed 13.4 and everything is reacting differently. DAMN!!!! What a machine

Welcome-ish to FRF
Pictures. Or it’s a prius.

The stock tune on the Raptor 10r80 transmission is about average. The “Normal” in Raptor modes is = “eco” in regular F series trucks. The ’17 and ’18 MY trucks have revised shifting tables addressed by a TSB for ‘harsh shifting’. Or you could get a tune.

Likely the battery itself wasn’t “the” issue, but probably the transmission adaptive learning tables and the truck’s lazy throttle curve. I put a pedal commander on for normal mode and keep it on a low adjustment value- city, or city +1 max. Otherwise the throttle gets twitchy in sport mode and the off road modes.
