thats not true if Raptor was making so much for ford there would not have skipped a year between Gen 1 and Gen2 simply extend the product; these are very niche models. The accountants are probably eyeing the cuts as we type

That simply isn't true. First there was a 2 year gap (last Gen 1 was 2014 and first Gen 2 was 2017). Second, since 2015 was a change over year for the F150 and the truck was all new, they pushed the new truck to market as quickly as possible. Developing a new Raptor requires additional R&D, hence the gap. Raptors make money on their own as well as selling a lot of standard F150s because of dealer foot traffic. They aren't going to cut any vehicle that makes money. Raj Nair may have been a big support of Ford Performance, but ultimately it's the board of directors that make the final call, so his replacement is going to have to convince the board of any new changes.

The Raptor brings the Ford name sales and bragging rights because it’s that cool of a vehicle. It’s a catogory of one. I have two buddies that recently have put take off rear shocks, raptor wheels, grills etc on a regular F150 to raptize it. It helps sell other F150s for sure and is good for the brand as whole. Back before I had my 2017 Gen 2 I put raptor wheels and rear shocks from a 2013 Raptor on my 2012 FX4. The shocks made a noticeable difference and I loved having the 35s. At that point I knew I had to have one and started saving...... I think it’s safe for awhile.

breaking news...FORD fires a **** pervert :sleepy:

Stupid Stupid Comment.... Racist and Presumptuous. There aren't any confirmed details about what he even did. He could of just been in a relationship with a subordinate that went bad.

Also not to fear monger, but the turn-over of a President who was extremely supportive of the FRP division can't be a good thing.

Ford Raptor is not a vehicle that generates even $.01 of profit directly for Ford. The R&D , Marketing, production, etc. costs involved in a vehicle such as this can't be recovered with the very low volume of truck sales.

The reason companies produce things like the Hellcat, Raptor, GT500 is building up the brand of the company.

For Example: after announcing the Dodge Demon, Challenger & Charger sales sky rocketed. However Dodge probably loses at least $50k for each Demon sold...

Vehicles like the Raptor are all about Ford Marketing, let's hope the new President doesn't go all Honda on us...

hope you are right; yes dodge thing is definitely a sales marketing. I just hope Raj replacement is as enthusiastic for performance and our small niche products like the GT350R and Raptor
