Unless it has changed VA tint law is 50% and even if you are from out of state they issue a ticket for being darker. Happened to me and fighting it didn't help, I was told when traveling in VA you must meet VA laws. So I have never been back.

That's complete ******** if you ask me. The state that you're registered in is the laws that you must follow. Anything STATE law with regard to the VEHICLE itself is damn near nullified. I always keep an out of state plate on my vehicles when I can. Perks of the military. But I've been pulled over in VA, actually, for my tint. He went and got the meter and everything. Ran my shit and with my Michigan plate, he just said have a nice day and be safe.

I'm getting mine done too. Law on fronts is 50% in North Dakota, and they're ******** about it. My brother has a Sierra Denali with I'm guessing 20% all around and has been pulled over twice on the interstate. Cops up here don't have enough to do. Although with all the oilfield riff raff pouring in they're a bit more preoccupied. I'm only going to 50% just to keep from being hassled.

I did 20% over all the windows. So now the back is super dark. I almost did the windshield 50% but it would be too hard to see at night.

Minnesota max-legal on a truck is 55%. It's not black, but it looks good and helps keep the heat out. Getting in my driveway at night (left corner, no streelight) is a small challenge with tinted windows. I discovered that curbs don't mean much to this truck :)
