What is on the other side of the Screw jack storage hole?

On the Screw the jack is under the storage cubby, on the passenger side of the truck. On the driver side of that same space is something else. Anyone know what that is?

When you pull the storage piece out the jack is on one side and there is another red pull on the other side:

Holy shit. I didn't even know that was there. Do they really think that chock would stop our trucks?

You'd be surprised. Unless ur on an extreme incline, then I'd start to question it. A rock or piece of wood would work as well if those items are available.
