It is a interior temperature and humidity sensor. Fun fact: The sensor assembly actually has a small motorized impeller fan that passes air over the thermistor and the humidity sensor for a more accurate reading of the cabin temperature. You can see it as the circular object in the picture above, towards the rear of the sensor assembly.
