What is going on?

Hey FRF, was just washing the truck when I noticed these paint imperfections on both sides towards the edges on the roof. No other part of the truck has this only on the top.

Is this sort of a ford factory paint problem?

Is that sealant under the paint? Not sure otherwise.

What year is the truck? Did you buy it new? That rubber seal looks old to me.

Not sure what you going on there! Something just doesn't like right. Here is a picture of mine and it's metal yours looks like a rubber seal.

Looks like a strip of foam they use to place camper tops on bed if pickups..did this ever have a roof rack on top maybe.I have black Raptor and looks like the red one shown..all metal..no foam strip.

Its a self leveling seam sealer from the factory, the roof is one panel welded to the door frame panels. They use it on several areas of vehicles. If you push on it real hard in hot sun you can feel it give a little. The newer paints have a lot of flex and it stays pretty semi solid
