Changed oil on Friday. Re-torqued all my suspension upgrades from back in September, everything looked good. The most pressing concern I wanted to figure out was this god awful popping sound I'd been hearing for the past few weeks or so, specifically when I was turning. Then I jumped on the running board on either side and the noise was also present. Going over bumps made the truck sound like the thing was going to fall apart. I suspected it might've been something loose from when I installed new shocks, but everything was still nice and tight. Lo and behold, it was the Mevotech end links I bought a few months ago. After I gave them a shot of grease the noise went away except for when I turned. To verify this, I removed the end links. No noise! The ride was so much smoother and I could hardly tell a difference on the highway. So I think I'm going to follow some advice of what some others have said and just take the damn thing off.
I do want to note though I found a tear in the boot on the upper passenger side, which could help explain the excessive play during my troubleshooting. Maybe something tore it, or hell, maybe I tore it during installation. Either way, I think I'll keep the links off for now unless I don't like the ride for whatever reason.
