I paid a little over $20k over ”STICKER” price…but I’m in a unique financial situation that affords me the option to pay over and not be super pissed about it. ‍ It was tough but I’m getting exactly what I want at the same time.

It's going to be much tougher to find MSRP if you're in the market for a 2022 now. Sure, there are some dealers that refuse to charge ADM, but it will be a challenge getting one of those allocations.

I think many of us that got MSRP deals last June wouldn't get the same today. I think most of the dealers were thinking that the supply chain issues would be improving before the end of 2021, now late 2023 might be when that happens. I know that I couldn't get MSRP from the dealer I ordered from if I tried now.

For people who have taken delivery of their new Raptors.

Does it count if the dealer processed my deal already and I have the title for a truck that they do not even have? Plus, they bought my 2019 superduty which I still have, as I told them they cannot have it until my truck is here. Which they were fine with. Super odd times for sure.

They signed you over a title for a truck you don’t have? Crazy. They won’t do that in PA. How did they get the Bill of Origin or Title without the truck? Never heard of that.

$2k Under MSRP, I just asked if there were any salesmen on FRF and if they were under MSRP, got a response from Thoroughbred Ford in Kansas City MO, for $2k under for exactly what I wanted, we flew out on United Mileage (free), stayed overnight on Marriott (points) and had a great trip home to Santa Barbara with a new truck!

I’m surprised you’re on here admitting that you spent that much over MSRP. I don’t know how or if you earn your money but anyway you put it that’s not a smart transaction. Especially well it’s well known you can get them for MSRP at other dealers.

Hate to say it you ruin it for everyone. I get you are rich but it's just some things that don't make it better for society.

FWIW, I ended up purchasing a dealer ordered Raptor on 1/1 (got tired of waiting on my order). While at the dealership, I was talking to this other customer waiting to see if he could get a Raptor (unlucky him mine was the last one sold). He said he had just come from another dealer in the Houston area that was asking for (and getting apparently) $20k ADM. My dealer was doing $5k, which is what I paid.

Turns out as I was signing all the paperwork, this guy walks up to the sales manager and offers $10k over what I paid. Of course he was told no, but this shows the absolute willingness of people to pay well over MSRP and then some.

Kindof similar to me…I paid $10k over for a truck optioned how I wanted it and already on the showroom at a dealer. Just chalked it up to supply and demand and a premium I can afford. Don’t really understand the folks that are making out paying an ADM to be some kind of moral issue. It’s just supply and demand. We’ll see how it plays out long term for the dealers that do it - my guess is that eventually the direct to consumer model will take over and Ford will just increase MSRPs more dramatically.

I’ve also benefitted on 2 other vehicles in the current market as well (trading my F150 and about $20k or appreciation on my 2020 GT350R so I still feel “net ahead”. Not a whole lot of complaining going on from everyone getting top dollar on their trades and private sales…

It would be supply and demand if every dealer was charging over ADM which isn’t the case. Your “chalk” it up is what I don’t understand. You dropped your pants and bent over because you have more money then sense and didn’t want to be bothered with calling around. Kinda not smart but that’s your decision. The part that bothers me is what someone mentioned above. Guys like you F it up for others trying to buy. The dealer reals in one sucker and they’ll keep their ADMs till they find another. No suckers = no ADMs. Supply and demand my rear end.
