Already has a top end viper alarm with GPS tracking module, the alarm went off but didn't send a message to my phone which was odd so I figured it was just a neighbor's alarm. Found out later that it was mine, won't be ignoring random alarms again that's for sure. As for the shit stolen value added up fast! Ended up just over $5k in stuff. Should have taken more time and unloaded after getting back from silver lake rather than leaving it in the truck, lesson learnt i guess.

Man that really sucks. Perhaps some security cameras now?
Did they break your window or bust the key lock hole?

Man, that sucks! Sorry to hear. Did they take anything recognizable that we can keep a look out for?

That blows! At least it was stuff and not the Raptor.

@t_j I'd hit up Viper and see if they'll cover anything since their product failed to work properly. Unless the thugs knew how to disable something.

My viper system has a theft protection policy. I'll have to look back through my papers when I get home to get the exact amount, but it says they will cover break ins.

I dont know how good they are at honoring their policy though.

I've been trying to work out how to equip the Raptor with panoramic mirrors without taking up too much space in the cab, rendering the visors inoperative, or spending too much money. When I first got the Raptor I nearly killed a guy in a squat convertible sports car. He was invisible riding next to me in my right side blind spot, and when I went to change lanes I nearly crushed him or forced him off the road. He was really nice about it, and apparently understood that the great differences between our two vehicles and their relative positions on the road was a big factor. Nice guy, but I didn't want anything similar to ever happen again.

This weekend I finally hit on the solution. I bought a piece of sheet metal from Ace Hardware, bent it, and cut it so that it would fit under the front edge of the overhead panel where the rear window switch is. Sticking two of those wedge shaped curved mirrors (normally used on side the outside mirrors) side-by-side to that piece of sheet metal gave me exactly what I wanted - enough of a panoramic view to catch my eye when something on the road with me is close enough, but not intrusive in the cab. Total cost was less than $10.

See photo.

Great idea!!! How is it held in place? Glued or just pressure?

Dropped it off at the dealership for some service stuff, and on the way out the sales manager grabbed me and asked if I wanted to trade it in, told him no, he then said he could probably get the owner to go north of 60K. Told him I'm waiting for the Focus RS.

A bit frustrated though, the dealership said they could do the mid perch mount, but then they called me back again saying it would void my warranty. Contradictory to what they told me when I made the original appointment. Curious because they did my friends Raptor about 6 months ago.

Ford released a TSB telling dealerships not to do perch adjustments. I think it was about 4 months ago.
