GEN 2 What’s this expansion port for in the console?

I have a company 2014 fx4 SCREW and that is where the 2 USB ports are located. My guess it's still the same console plastic piece and when they moved the ports that was left like it was without having the holes punched out for the USB ports.

Sorry Toadster, I just got back to my 2014 and the USB port is more centered, not in the left corner as your picture shows. So your question remains unanswered. And my memory is still suspect!

If you drill a hole you will find four additional USB ports as well as a 110v outlet rated at 2500 watts.
